Wireless modules for ZigBee networks

The ZigBee protocol (IEEE 802.15.4) was engineered by the ZigBee Alliance, and is capable to mix very low consumption with an high linkable devices number, thus making it suitable for many application scenarios that doesn't require an high Data Rate transmission (ex: home and industrial automation).

Radio Modules XTR-ZB1 ZigBee Series

zigbee wireless solutionsXTR-ZB1, the zigbee radio module designed by AUREL, represents the ideal solution to the need of building a ZigBee network.

The tiny XTR-ZB1 (35 x 25 mm) is provided with a dual line connectors for total 22 pins, 13 dedicated to digital and analog I/O besides 4 lines for RS232 serial interface for data communications with external microprocessor.

One version (XTR-ZB1-xLI) is made by an integrated PIFA antenna with high efficiency and therefore, wherever the I/O lines are sufficient, represents a complete ZigBee node with real RF irradiated power equals to 0 dBm.

XTR-ZB1-xLI and XTR-ZB1-xHI differ for the irradiated power in transmission and the sensitivity in reception: the former achieves 1 mW of irradiated power and –92 dbm of sensitivity, while the latter 20 mW and –102 dBm.
